Gust Nettestad

Gust Nettestad, age 25, a resident of Pelican Rapids, Minnesota, died on Sunday, August 7, 2011, at his apartment in Fargo, North Dakota.Gust Orville Nettestad was born January 7, 1986, in Fargo, North Dakota, the son of Bruce and Sheila (Flynn) Nettestad. He attended school in Pelican Rapids, Minnesota. Gust was enrolled to begin this fall at NDSCS majoring in sales. Gust loved spending time with his son, Nolan, who was his pride and joy. He was a wonderful father; he loved to give Nolan rides on the 4-wheeler, go swimming together at the lake, or just marvel at his son's accomplishments. Gust was an avid skateboarder. You could see him skating up and down the streets on his skateboard when he couldn't find a local skate park nearby. Come winter, he awaited the snow so he could take out his board and go snowboarding. He loved boarding with his many friends and cousins.In the fall, he enjoyed sitting in the blind with his dad or friends waiting for the flock of geese or ducks to come in. He enjoyed the annual family deer hunt at his Aunt Fay's; being together with family and looking forward to the breakfast Aunt Fay always served. Gust loved to visit with people young and old alike. If he was your friend you knew it as he was loyal to a fault and stood by you with a helping hand. He loved his family: his loving sister, Amy, who was always there for him, always; his mom who he loved to tease and get a rise out of her; his dad as they sat and talked in the shop; his grandparents how he loved them in their own way; his aunts and uncles and cousins how they were all so special to him in their own way. If you knew Gust, it was his big heart and his loyalty along with his smile!!
