Norman Lundhagen, age 89, a resident of Pelican Rapids, Minnesota, died on Saturday, September 10, 2011, at the Pelican Valley Health Center in Pelican Rapids, Minnesota.Delbert "Norman" Lundhagen was born August 24, 1922, in Pelican Township, Minnesota, the son of Ludvig and Julia (Sleen) Lundhagen. He attended grade school District #87 and #88, graduating from Pelican Rapids High School in 1940. After graduating from high school Norman worked on the family farm. In 1944, he enlisted in the United States Army serving during World War II in the European Theater and in the personnel department. Norman was awarded the Good Conduct Medal and was Honorably Discharged in 1946 as a Sergeant. On June 28, 1969, Norman was united in marriage to Arline Ruud at Trinity Lutheran Church in Pelican Rapids. The couple made their home in Pelican Rapids where Norman pursued a career as a construction contractor building many homes including his residence. The couple enjoyed their winter home in Arizona until 1994. Arline preceded Norman in death on March 30, 2010.Norman was a member of Calvary Evangelical Free Church in Pelican Rapids where he served on the church board. He also enjoyed gardening, hunting, and woodworking.Norman is survived by his ten nieces and nephews and a host of friends.He was preceded in death by his wife, Arline; his parents, Ludvig and Julia; six sisters: Amy Solberg, Edna Hagen, Ruby Sillerud, Adella Knutson, Lorena Langseth, and Eunice Nelson; two brothers: Arnold and Orville.Funeral Home:Larson Funeral Home304 3rd Street S.E.Pelican Rapids, MNUS 56572
