Ashley Lynn Ganyo

Ashley Ganyo, age 24, a resident of Duluth, Minnesota died December 4, 2011 in a car accident in Superior, Wisconsin. Ashley Lynn Ganyo was born November 24, l987 in Grand Forks, North Dakota the daughter of Gary Ganyo and Paul and Tammy (Severson) Nord. She was baptized in Grafton, North Dakota and confirmed at North Immanuel Lutheran Church, Pelican Rapids, Minnesota. Ashley attended elementary and middle school in Fargo, North Dakota until 2001 when she moved to Pelican Rapids, graduating from Pelican Rapids High School in 2006. Ashley attended the University of Minnesota-Duluth, graduating from there May, 2010 with a degree in Secondary Education. She worked at the Lake Superior Zoo and enjoyed her position at "Zoo Tots" teaching toddlers about the animals. Ashley was also working at Heartland Homes in Duluth as a personal care attendant. Ashley loved to travel, loved world history and exploring as much of the world as she could. She did student teaching in Belize and absolutely loved being in different cultures, learning about every part of their world. Everyone that knew Ashley or had just met her felt her special spark of energy. She had a zest for life unsurpassed by anyone. She had a smile that lit up any room she walked into. Her energy would embrace you and you instantly felt how special she is.Her little brothers so loved every minute they could spend with Ashley who adored them immensely. They loved going to Duluth with her to explore Gooseberry National Park, the boundary waters and all the shops in Canal Park. Ashley leaves two brothers and one sister who is her best friend and confidant her little "Mango". World history and education is so important to them. She also leaves many aunts, uncles and cousins who she adored as well as her grandmother where she got her beautiful red hair that she was so proud of. Ashley loved Watching Golden Girls with grandma and has so many memories of grandma's house and being with her.
