Mikhail Greben, age 71, a resident of Pelican Rapids, Minnesota, died on Monday, December 26, 2011 under the care of his wife, Raisa, and the Frazee Care Center in Frazee, Minnesota. Mikhail Pavlovich Greben was born January 1, 1940 in Luchki Belarus, the son of Pavel and Natasha (Mindzar) Greben. Mikhail attended school in Belarus and then moved to Ukraine to go to college where he graduated with an agricultural degree. On October 14, 1962 Mikhail married the love of his life Raisa. Together they made their home in Ukraine where they raised 2 children Vitaliy and Irina. While they lived in Kremehchug, Ukraine Mikhail managed a farm agriculitural business, he also had a small farm of his own. In 1990 Mikhail answered God's calling to preach and teach the word of God. He was a Pastor at Krykov Baptist Church in Ukraine. In December of 1999 they joined their children in the United States where he continued his ministry as a Pastor at the Word of Life Slavic Church in Moorhead, Minnesota. In January of 2000 Mikhail started working at West Central Turkey's in Pelican Rapids until October 22, 2011 when he suffered a massive stroke. Mikhail enjoyed spending time with his wife traveling and doing gardening. He loved nature and loved to go for a drive and explore new roads to see where they would lead. He enjoyed calling his friends and family members on his cell phone and helping others. He loved spending time with his children and every spare moment with his grandchildren, he could not wait to welcome his upcoming grandson in January. He touched the lives of many people everywhere; his friendliness, smile, and outlook on life will never be forgotten and will continue to live on through his children and grandchildren. Mikhail is survived by his loving wife Raisa; son Vitaliy and his wife Yuliya of Concord NC; daughter Irina and her husband Jacob Arntson of Pelican Rapids; seven grandchildren: Yan and his fiance Katie, Mark, Dave, Danielle, Kimberly, Ariana, Hannah; four sisters-in-law: Lidia (Peter) Denesevich of Greenfield MA, Yevgeniya of Kaliningrad Russia, Maria Pribyshchuk of Chicago IL; and numerious nieces and nephews.Preceding Mikhail in death were his parents Pavel and Natasha; father and mother-in-law Vasiliy and Antonina Leonchuk; his infant son Valeriy; sister-in-law Galina; brothers-in-law: Petr Pribyshchuk and Alexandr Sakovich; and his nephew Petro Pribyshchuk.Funeral Home:Larson Funeral Home304 3rd Street S.E.Pelican Rapids, MNUS 56572
