John (Jack) Nelson, 76, passed away January 16, 2012, at the Good Samaritan Center, after a courageous battle with cancer. Jack was born on August 12, 1935, to Ernest and Ruth (Westby) Nelson. Following high school he served in the Army Reserve, and because of his love to travel the countryside, he made truck driving a life long career. In 1957, Jack married Darlene Klimek. Jack loved the outdoors, vacationing with his family, was an avid reader, a true-hearted Twins fan, an excellent whist player, and he had a wonderful sense of humor. His retirement years were dedicated to his family and spending time with his grandchildren. Jack is survived by his wife Darlene, and their 3 daughters: Kay (Jim) Perrin, Brenda (Robb) Miller and LuAnn (Brent) Langley. Seven grandchildren: Justin (Amy) Perrin, Jedd (Kari) Miller, Elizabeth (Steve) Miller (Terry Motz), Amanda (Spencer) Paulson, Jenna (Micah) Kvidt, Madison and Makenzie Langley. Nine great grandchildren: Callen Perrin, Bella Miller, Brody, Brooklyn and Olivia Motz, Ryley, Chloe, Sophia and Jack Paulson. He was an amazing husband, dad, and grandpa to all of us. His kind and patient personality will be greatly missed.
