LaVerne Satter

LaVerne Satter, age 89, a resident of Pelican Rapids, Minnesota, died on Friday, August 10, 2012 at the Pelican Valley Nursing Home in Pelican Rapids.LaVerne A. Jorgenson was born June 21, 1923 in Erhards Grove Township near Erhard, Minnesota the daughter of Bennie and Olina (Gilbertson) Jorgenson. On September 14, 1939 LaVerne was united in marriage to Victor Satter. For many years she was employed at Olson's Menswear and later worked at Larry's Supermarket in the bakery, both located in Pelican Rapids. LaVerne was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and their ladies aid.She enjoyed flower gardening, embroidery, baking, cooking, and playing whist.LaVerne is survived by her two daughters: Bonnie (Jerry) Christianson, Pelican Rapids and Pam (Tom) Johnson, Eagan, Minnesota; son, Vic Satter of Pelican Rapids; 16 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her daughter, Val Scott; son, Jim Satter; great-granddaughter, Maddie Callahan; daughter-in-law, Gail Satter; siblings: Oscar Jorgenson, Harry Jorgenson, Burt Jorgenson, Olga Irey, Josie Buck, Alma Ogren, Evelyn Knowles, Helen Salness, Edna Satter, and Marion Waller.
