Clifford M Hemmingson

Clifford M. Hemmingson , age 87, a resident of Pelican Rapids, Minnesota died Friday, August 17, 2012, at Pelican Valley Health Center. Clifford Hemmingson was born July 10, 1925 in Yellow Medicine County, Camby, Minnesota, the sonof George and Alice (Neutson) Hemmingson. He served in the U.S.Army February 1944 to June 1946. Clifford was united in marriage to Arlene Roggenbuck August 12, 1946 at Rosen, Minnesota. He bottled milk at Lakeside Dairy in Sioux Falls, South Dakota for 28 years. Clifford and Arlene moved to Pelican Rapids where he worked as a mechanic for Jim Brummer until retirement in 1987.He was a lifetime member of the V.F.W. Post #5252. Clifford loved to fish. He fished in the Pacific and the Atlantic Oceans and many ponds in between. He enjoyed collecting hats and doing mechanic work on race cars.Clifford is survived by his wife of 66 years, Arlene, Pelican Rapids, MN; daughters, Ione (Clarence) Miller, Stockton, MD, Mary (Joe) Staab, Seward, Alaska, Jane (Jeff) Peasley, Lisbon, ND; son, Paul (Laura) Hemmingson, Sioux Falls, SD; 12 grandchildren: David (Eva) McCall, Douglas (Lisa) McCall, Sara McCall, Carrie (Jesse) Munson, Jody (Brad) Ludens, John, Adam and Alex Hemmingson, Rebecca, Isaac, Benjamin and Rachel Peasley; four great-grandchildren: Julia McCall, Abigail and Kaitlin Ludens, John McCall. He was preceded in death by his son, Joseph and grandson, Matthew Staab; his parents, George and Alice; siblings and spouses: Evelyn (Sig) Dahl, Beatrice (Charlie) Halverson, Martha (Henry) Wellhouse, Edna (George) Lage, Reuel (Johana) Hemmingson, Asa (Alice) Hemmingson and Lily (Walt) Tofteland.Visitation: One hour prior to the service at Mill Pond View Apts.Service: 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 8, 2012 at Mill Pond View Apts., 101 Mill Ave. E., Pelican Rapids, MNFuneral Home:Larson Funeral Home304 3rd Street S.E.Pelican Rapids, MNUS 56572
