Clifford Anderson

Clifford Anderson, age 91, a resident of Pelican Rapids, MN, died Thursday, January 24, 2013, at Pelican Valley Nursing Home, Pelican Rapids, MN.Clifford was born near Rothsay, MN on February 19, 1921. He moved with his parents, Peter and Thelma (Halbakken) Anderson to the farm in Trondhjem Township. He attended school at District # 78. He was a lifetime member of South Immanuel Lutheran Church. Clifford was a hardworking man who took pride in a job well done. He often told about working with horses in the early years. He loved little children and animals, especially his cats which he kept well fed. He was always proud of the well-manicured yard and barnyard.After his father passed away in l961, he and his mother continued to live on the farm until her death in 1999. In 2000 he moved into Mill Pond View Apartments. He always loved to visit in the Norwegian language and was soon known there as the "little Norwegian" or "Chuckles".In November of 2012, Clifford was admitted to Lake Region Hospital following a fall. He then transferred to Pelican Valley Nursing Home where he passed away on January 24, 2013 under the care of Lakeland Hospice and a caring staff, and in the presence of family. Clifford is survived by his sister, Jean (Victor) Hitter, Pelican Rapids, MN; nieces and nephews: Linda Lancaster, Patricia (Byron) Nelson, Bonnie (Bill) Erickson, Jeff (Julie Ann) Holt, Terry (Pat Schroeder) Engebretson, Nancy (Jason Stein) Engebretson, Eric (Jami) Engebretson, Kurt Engebretsonand numerous grand nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Evean Holt.
