Scott Fox, 56, died unexpectedly at his home in Pelican Rapids, MN on Friday, April 26, 2013. Scott Craig Fox was born on September 21, 1956 to C. Dean and Marilyn Joan (Lundell) Fox in Pelican Rapids, MN. He was baptized at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Wadena, MN and confirmed at the First Congregational in Pelican Rapids. He attended school in Pelican Rapids and graduated in 1975. He received his Associates Degree in Criminal Justice at Bemidji State University. He started working with the Pelican Rapids Police Department on April 1, 1978. He served as a patrol officer, DARE officer, school liaison before being promoted to Chief of Police in November of 2001, retiring March 31, 2008 after 30 years in Law Enforcement. He was currently working part time for the Otter Tail County Sheriff's office in court house security. He was united in marriage Gail Brennan on November 3, 1979 at the First Congregational Church in Pelican Rapids. They spent all of their married years in Pelican Rapids. Scott enjoyed hunting, fishing, and canoeing in the Boundary Waters. He was active in the Boy Scouts for many years. Scott lead by example and he served his community in many different organizations including the Crisis Response Team, board member of Some Place Safe, President of the Library Board, Masons, Faith Lutheran Church. He is survived by his wife Gail, two children: Ryan Fox, Edmore, ND, Kristin Fox, Minnetonka, MN; two brothers: Michael (Suzi) Fox, Minnetonka, MN, Brian (Julie) Fox, Foley, MN; several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
