Jacob Pierce, age 26, a resident of rural Vergas, MN, died on Wednesday, May 22, 2013, in Minneapolis, MN. Jacob Taylor Pierce was born September 25, 1986 in Detroit Lakes, MN, the son of Maynard and Kristi (Boese) Pierce. He was baptized and confirmed at Faith Lutheran Church in Pelican Rapids, MN. Jacob graduated from Pelican Rapids High School in 2005 and attended Wadena Technical College, in the electrical lineman program. He was employed at Pierce Log Homes, worked in the oil fields of North Dakota and most recently Jacob was a mechanic at Pelican Transmission. He was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Pelican Rapids. Jacob enjoyed fishing, hunting and working out. He was an accomplished barefoot water-skier. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family. He is survived by his parents: Maynard and Kristi Pierce, Vergas, MN; brother Zachary Pierce, Sabin, MN; grandparents: Dale and Janet Pierce and Albert and Christine Boese all of Pelican Rapids; great-grandmother Elsie Pierce, Hatton ND; aunts and uncles: Lori (Bruce) Tweeton, Tim (Becca) Pierce, Dawn (Robert) Westby, Laura (Wes) Hagen and Troy Poach, and numerous cousins. Jacob was preceded in death by his aunt Julie Poach and infant cousin Paige Poach.Visitation: Monday, May 27, 2013, 5:00-7:00 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. at Faith Lutheran Church, Pelican Rapids, MN.
