Curtis LeRoy Lahlum

Curtis Lahlum, age 74, a resident of Pelican Rapids, Minnesota, died on Saturday, September 7, 2013 at his residence. Curtis LeRoy Lahlum was born on January 7, 1939 in Rothsay, MN, to Peder and Miranda (Evenson) Lahlum. He graduated from Pelican Rapids High School in 1958. For a few years Curtis was employed with A-1 Olson Typewriter in Fargo, ND. On December 31, 1964, he was united in marriage with Karen Hanson at Trinity Lutheran Church in Moorhead, MN. After their marriage Curtis and Karen moved to Pelican Rapids where Curtis worked for Jung Shoe Company based out of Sheboygan, Wisconsin. For 21 years Curtis was employed for the city of Pelican Rapids retiring in 2001. After his retirement he worked for his son, Mike, at Jet-Line Sewer Cleaning and Televising in Detroit Lakes. Curtis enjoyed gardening and being a devoted fan of the Minnesota Vikings; although his greatest pleasure was spending time with his family. Curtis is survived by his wife, Karen, Pelican Rapids; son, Mike (Vicki) Lahlum of Detroit Lakes with their three children: Glenn (Meghan) Dohrer, Sara Dohrer, and Megan Lahlum; son, Brian (Dawn) Lahlum of Pelican Rapids with their two children: Trista and Max; two great grandchildren (Glenn and Meghan's children) Shyann and Nolan; two brothers: Eldon (Delores) Lahlum, Roseville, MN, and Vern Lahlum, Pelican Rapids; sister-in-law, Kathy (Dan) Mangler and brother-in-law, Bob (Steph) Hanson; and nieces and nephews.Curtis was preceded in death by his mother, Miranda; his brother, Clayton; sister, Joan.Visitation: Tuesday, September 10, 2013, from 5:00-7:00 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m., at Larson Funeral Home, Pelican Rapids, MN.
