Mary Bayne, age 64, a resident Minneapolis, formerly of Pelican Rapids, Minnesota, passed away Sunday, September 22, 2013 at Essentia Health, Fargo, ND. Mary Louise Bayne was born July 3, 1949 in Pelican Rapids, daughter of Earl Gobel and Jeanette (Nettestad) Gobel. In May of 1967 Mary graduated from Pelican Rapids High School. In June of 1967 Mary was united in marriage to Gary Scharnberg. They had two sons, Chad and Tate, before their separation. In November of 1983, Mary was united in marriage to George Heinisch. Mary and George had one son, Casey, before their separation. She raised her children until they attended school.Mary worked as a phlebotomist at St. Luke's Hospital in Fargo until 1993. Then she owned and operated Boondocks Bar and Grill near Detroit Lakes till 1996. After that time Mary worked as a lab technician for Merit Care in Fargo and Pelican Rapids until 2011. Mary also worked as an interior designer throughout her career. She worked at Good Samaritan Society of Pelican Rapids up to the time she moved to Minneapolis to be with her sons. Mary was a member of the VFW Auxiliary. Mary was very passionate about her home, gardening, painting, pottery and ceramics.Mary is survived by her three sons: Chad Scharnberg of Minneapolis, MN; Tate (Mandy Cook) Scharnberg of Kneeland, CA, and their daughter, Lark; Casey Heinisch of Minneapolis, MN; her mother, Jeanette Gobel of Pelican Rapids, MN; sister, Janice (Dave) Gilbertson of Detroit Lakes, MN; brother, John(Pam) Gobel of Detroit Lakes, MN; and her beloved pugs; Bogie and Bacall.Mary was preceded in death by her father, Earl Gobel.Memorial Gathering: One hour prior to ServiceCelebration of Life: 7:00 p.m., Friday, September 27, 2013, at Larson Funeral Home, Pelican Rapids, MN.
