Darcy Barnes

Darcy Lea Barnes was born July 9, 1959 the daughter of David and Marylynn (Pierce) Hudson in Moorhead, Minnesota. She graduated from Fargo South High School. On December 1, 1980 Darcy was united in marriage with Duane Barnes at the Assembly of God Church in Fargo. Darcy worked as a homemaker raising her four children. In 1993 Darcy and Duane moved to the East Lake Lida area to her grandparent's home, Leslie and Mary Pierce. Darcy enjoyed spending time on the computer. She took pleasure in gardening, canning and horseback riding. Her biggest enjoyment was spending time with family, especially her grandchildren.Darcy Lea Barnes, age 54, a resident of Lake Lida area, near Pelican Rapids, died Friday, October 11, 2013 at her home.Darcy was survived by her husband, Duane, Pelican Rapids, MN; her children: Mitch (Shari) VerDorn, Erhard, Liza Marie (Corey Pourrier) Barnes, Erhard, Gage (Alisha Evans) Barnes, Pelican Rapids and Becky (Justin Emery) Barnes, Pelican Rapids; 4 grandchildren: Justin and Lucas VerDorn, Chase Pourrier and David Barnes; brother: Kelly (Denise) Hudson, New York Mills, MN; brothers-in-law: Kurt (Vicki) Gustafson, Doug Gustafson and Gordy Gustafson; sister-in-law: Lorena (DJ) Jensen; many nieces and nephews and her loyal Dachshund companion, Peanut.She is preceded in death by her parents and one brother Jeffrey.Service: 2:00 p.m. Friday, October 18, 2013 at First Congregational United Church of Christ, Pelican Rapids, Minnesota.Funeral Home:Larson Funeral Home304 3rd Street S.E.Pelican Rapids, MNUS 56572
