David Jongeward

David Jongeward, age 52, a resident of Moorhead, MN died on Tuesday, March 25, 2014 at the Fargo VA Hospital.David John Jongeward was born May 14, 1961 in Hastings, MN the son of Loren and Dalyce (Hanson) Jongeward. In 1979 David graduated from Pelican Rapids High School. From 1980 to 1984 David served in the United States Marine Corps. After serving in the military, David attended Moorhead State University pursuing a degree in social work. Through the years David worked in social work in St. Cloud, White Earth, and the Fargo-Moorhead area. In 2004 David returned to Moorhead State University earning his Bachelor's Degree in Social Work. Most recently David was employed at the Divine House in Moorhead. David was a member of the Cathedral of St. Mary in Fargo and the American Legion in Fargo. He enjoyed snowmobiling, motorcycling, and listening to classic rock. David was an avid history buff, especially civil war history.David is survived by his 3 children: Zachary Anderson, Marion, OH, Alexandra Anderson, Marion, OH, and Catarina Jongeward, Minneapolis, MN; mother, Dalyce (Luvern) Axness, Pelican Rapids; 5 grandchildren: Connor Riley, Kelcee Renae, Rylen Scott, Nicholas David, and Emma Grace; brother, Daniel (Karen) Jongeward, Hawley, MN; niece, Alecia Jongeward; aunt, Beverly (George) Kenealey and uncle, David (Doris) Hanson; and several cousins.He was preceded in death by his father, Loren; aunts: Grace (Lee) Tvedten and Gayle (Irwin) Dahlheimer.Visitation: Friday, March 28, 2014 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. with a prayer service at 6:30 p.m.at Larson Funeral Home, Pelican Rapids, MN. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at the church.Service: 2:00 p.m., Saturday, March 29, 2014 at North Immanuel Lutheran Church, Pelican Rapids, Minnesota.Clergy: Rev.
