Kathryn L Elton

Kathryn Elton, age 86, a resident of Pelican Rapids, Minnesota passed peacefully into glory surrounded by her family on Sunday, May 25, 2014 at Pelican Valley Nursing Center in Pelican Rapids. She is now in the presence of her Lord, whom she loves so much. Kathryn Lenore Lee was born March 18, 1928 in Pelican Rapids the daughter of Leonard and Clara (Aanru) Lee. In 1946 Kathryn graduated from Pelican Rapids High School. On June 20, 1948 Kathryn was united in marriage to Arland Elton at Ringsaker Lutheran Church in Pelican Rapids. Kathryn and Arland both attended Concordia College and graduated in 1950. They returned to Pelican Rapids where they raised their family. Kathryn taught piano for 24 years.Kathryn was a founding member of Calvary Evangelical Free Church in Pelican Rapids. She was organist, pianist, choir director, Sunday school teacher and led many Bible studies. She was a member of Women's Civic, birthday club, Birchwood women's golf league. She was an encourager and loved helping people. She enjoyed music, golfing, writing and spending time at the cottage on Prairie Lake.Kathryn is survived by her husband, Arland, Pelican Rapids, MN; son Dan (Dawn) Elton, Moorhead; daughters; Lorrie (Bard) Miller, Pelican Rapids and Bonnie (Duane) Siverson, Moorhead; eight grandchildren; Ryan (Ann) Elton, Ria (Tim) Czichotzki, Taylor Elton, Aaron (Heather) Miller, Andrew (Stacie) Miller, Austen (Kathy) Miller, Tyler Siverson, Jordan Siverson; seventeen great-grandchildren; brother DeWayne Lee, brother-in-law Wayne (Solveig) Elton, and several nieces and nephews.Kathryn is preceded in death by her parents; two infant sons both named Ron Murray; brother Wetzel Lee.Visitation: Wednesday May 28, 2014 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m.at Larson Funeral Home, Pelican Rapids, MN.
