Everett "Bud" Paulson

Everett "Bud" Ardean Paulson, age 81, a resident of Cormorant Township, passed away peacefully surrounded by family at his home after a long battle with cancer. Everett Ardean Paulson was born July 27, 1932 on the family farm in Cormorant Township the son of Elmer and Emma (Larson) Paulson. Bud was baptized and confirmed at the former Lake Ida Church and he attended District 24 School in Cormorant Twp. Bud lived his entire life in Cormorant Twp. except while serving in the Army from 1952 to 1956 being stationed in Germany. Bud worked as a Heavy Equipment Operator, Farmer, Owner/Operator for International Trucking, and Owned a Grain and Gravel hauling Company until his retirement in 2008. Bud was a former Cormorant Town Board Member and maintained many miles of Twp. and County Roads in years past. Bud kept his strength working until last week on equipment around his farm and never let his illness bother him, he will be deeply missed.He was preceded in death by his parents: Elmer and Emma Paulson, brothers: George and Baby Lloyd, sisters: Edna Dunham and Lillian Beecher, grandson Thomas Braseth and step grandson Jon Wafle.He is survived by daughters: Annette (Kevin) Braseth, and Deborah (Roger) Aakre all of Hawley, MN; partner of 35 years Alice Schwedrsky of Cormorant Twp. and daughter Toots (Jay) Nelson of Lake Park and sons: Lonnie (Angie), TJ (Beth) and Gary (Darcy) Schwedrsky all of Mauston, WI; grandchildren: Philip Braseth, Katie (Jake) Lemke, Robyn Aakre, and Teresa (Justin) Sands; step-grandchildren: Jake and Jon Nelson, Marty, Stephen, Tanner, Haley, Andy, Alonda, Danielle and Tara Jo; great-grandchildren: Cullyn and Jace; sisters: Emma Hanson of Wana, WA, Helen Mitchell and Joyce (Richard) Duffney of Detroit Lakes, MN, Pearl Peterson of Audubon, MN and Grace Larson of Pelican Rapids, MN.Memorials preferred to Red River Valley Hospice, 1102 West River Rd., Detroit Lakes, MN 56501Celebration of Life: 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., Saturday, August 2, 2014 at Cormorant Community Center, 10929 County Highway 5, Pelican Rapids, MN Burial: Paulson farmsteadHonorary Pallbearers: Gerald Evenson Family, International Transport (IT) Drivers, D.E.
