Lorraine Erickson

Lorraine A. Erickson, age 92, of Pelican Rapids, MN, formerly of Moorhead, MN and Hope, ND passed away Saturday, February 14, 2015 at Pelican Valley Health Center in Pelican Rapids, MN.Lorraine Adeline Forsgren was born on March 7, 1922, near Pelican Rapids to John and Ida (Tjernberg) Forsgren. She was the youngest of ten children. The family farmed near Lake Lida. Lorraine was baptized and confirmed at Central Swede Grove Lutheran Church in rural Pelican Rapids. Lorraine married Howard Sundby in 1942 at Central Lutheran Church. They made their home near Lake Lida where they had seven children. In 1958, they moved to Moorhead. Lorraine worked as a housekeeper and was in food service at Villa Maria for many years while her children were growing up. She was hard working and dedicated to raising a fine family. Howard died in 1975 in Washington. In 1978, Lorraine married Ken Erickson. Ken farmed near Hope, ND and they made their home there until Ken died in 1995. She then moved to Fargo/Moorhead eventually living at The Evergreens, Bethany, and later moving to Pelican Valley Nursing Home. Lorraine was very proud of her children and of their families and that she raised such fine individuals. She was also proud that during the World War II while Howard was in the Army she was a ship welder for military ships in Seattle, WA. Lorraine was preceded in death by her parents, John and Ida Forsgren, husbands Howard and Ken, brothers Verner (Sophie), Carl (Myrtle), sisters, Nancy, Linnea (Ephraim Nelson), Amy (Larry Johnson), Nina (Lester McIntyre), Lillian (Burt Hendrickson), Arlene (Nels Roswick), and Doris (Dan Wolfestad and Fred Turriff), daughter-in-law Brenda Nelson, great grandson Adam Ravetto and great great grandson Grayson Styke. Lorraine is survived by daughters Jerri (Ron) Baker, Vergas, Lona (Charlie) Jose, Delano, Bonnie (Roger) Kuznia, Fairbault, Vicki (Tim) Langeberg, Glyndon, Cindy, Fergus Falls; sons Tom, Moorhead, and Tim (Kathy), Elizabeth, 23 grandchildren: Colleen Frost, Paul (Michelle) Baker, Dan (Stephanie) Baker, Renee (Tim) Erickson, Anna(Brian) Biehn, Jennifier (Dean) Gagnon, Amy Kuznia, Rebecca (Nick) Ravetto, Sarah (Dan) Bovitz, Aaron (Allison) Kuznia, Kari, Lynse, Matt and Nick Langeberg, Chad and Nate Sundby, Erik (Jordan) Sundby, Josh Sundby, Leah (Nick) Kvamme, Elizabeth (Loren) Bottom, Melanie and Corey Styke, Jessica (Jeff) Schwartz; 28 great grandchildren: Anthony, Patrick, Brendan and Callie Frost, Ryan and Adam Baker, Katy and Nick Baker, Alyson and Dylan Erickson, Alexandra, Jake, Briana and Michael Biehn, Mason and Aidan Gagnon, Lukas Ravetto, Sienna Bovitz, Aadilee Sundby, Briella and Brayden Kvamme, Ashley, Taylor and Alexis Styke, Hunter, Cameron, Morgan, Bailey and Cole Schwartz, and 1 great great granddaughter, Logan Gaustad, several nieces and nephews, Ken Erickson's family and friends.Funeral Home:Larson Funeral Home304 3rd Street S.E.Pelican Rapids, MNUS 56572
