Emily Renae Thompson

Emily Renae (Aaberg) Thompson, age 38, of Pelican Rapids, MN, died Wednesday, March 25, 2015 at her home.Emily Renae Aaberg was born May 21, 1976 in Pelican Rapids, the loving daughter of David Charles and Margret Anne (Siefken) Aaberg. She grew up on South Lake Lida and attended school in Pelican Rapids graduating in 1994.On August 31, 1997 Emily was united in marriage to Len Howard Thompson of Pelican Rapids. They made their home in the Pelican Rapids area and have two wonderful children, Nicholas Robert Thompson and Allie Margret Thompson. For the past 6 years Emily enjoyed her life with Daryl Leslie Pixley. They made their home in Pelican Rapids in a house they completely rebuilt themselves. Emily was proud of what they had accomplished. She enjoyed traveling, fishing, camping, and all the good times spent on the lake. Emily especially enjoyed attending school events for her children and was extremely proud of their success in music, dance, athletics and especially in academics.After Nicholas' birth she completed her nursing degree. For the past 5 years she was employed by Sanford Health in Pelican Rapids, where she was a wonderful clinic nurse.Emily is survived by her children: Nicholas and Allie Thompson; partner in life: Daryl Pixley, his children Cody, Cassie and granddaughter, Kloe; her parents: David and Margret Aaberg; sister: Jennifer (Mike) Osborne; nephews: Michael, Brandon and Matthew Osborne; nieces: Kaitlyn Osborne, Jenna Nava, Amanda Pixley, Kellie Orvik and Olivia Pixley, all of Pelican Rapids; grandmother: Ida Aaberg, Rothsay; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends all of whom will sadly miss her, however her memory will live on through all of these wonderful people in her life.She is preceded in death by her grandparents, Richard and Norma Siefken and grandfather, Charles Aaberg.Memorial Gathering: Monday, March 30, 2015, from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Trinity Luthern Church, Pelican Rapids, Minnesota.A Celebration of Emily's Life will be held privately at a later date and time.Funeral Home:Larson Funeral Home304 3rd Street S.E.Pelican Rapids, MNUS 56572
