Martha Elizabeth Haugen

Martha Haugen, age 85, of Pelican Rapids, MN, died Sunday, October 18, 2015 at Riverfront on Main in Pelican Rapids, MN.Martha Elizabeth was born January 19, 1930 at Wing, North Dakota, the daughter of Philip and Katherine (Singer) Weber. In 1936, Martha and her family moved to a farm near New Rockford, North Dakota. She attended school, worked on the family farm and helped with cooking & baking for their large family.On June 23, 1957, she was united in marriage to Jerome Loren Haugen in New Rockford, ND. They made their home in Pelican Rapids. In the mid 1970's she worked as a kitchen assistant at Pelican Valley Nursing Home for ten years. Martha loved cooking, baking and delivering her baked goods to the neighbors. She enjoyed fishing and spending time with her grandchildren. Martha was an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church. For 18 years, Martha and Jerry especially enjoyed the winter months in Arizona. Jerome died May 30, 2014. Martha is survived by her son, Brian (Sandy) Haugen, Bellingham, MN, daughters: Kathy (Richard) Arntson, Pelican Rapids and Joann (Jerry) Hebel, Manly, IA; seven grandchildren: Matthew (Erin) Haugen, Chelsea (Tony) Ludvigson, Jarett Haugen, Devin (Tyler) Scott, Kassy Arntson, Nichol Hebel and Brandon Hebel; great-granddaughter, Peyton Haugen and great-grandson, Beau Haugen; sister: Tilda Haugan, Pelican Rapids, MN, brother: David (Shirley) Weber, Pasadena, CA; brother in-law Duane (Helen) Haugen, Fergus Falls, MN; sisters in-law: Delores Sorum, Pelican Rapids, MN, Darlene (Dale) Bischoff, New Prague, MN, Janet (Orlando) Follingstad, Battle Lake, MN, Valdine Haugen, Fergus Falls, MN, Doreen Weber, Jacksonville, FL; and numerous nieces and nephews.
