Pastor Jennifer Sandstrom

Pastor Jennifer Sandstrom, age 66, of Pelican Rapids, MN, died Friday, November 20, 2015 at University of Minnesota Medical Center, Fairview, Minneapolis, MN.Jennifer Sandall was born July 29, 1949 in Galesburg, IL, to Albert and Audrey (Harrison) Sandall. She was baptized at the age of 16 in the Corpus Christi Catholic Church in Galesburg, Illinois. She attended school in Galesburg High School, graduating in 1967.She was united in marriage to Rob Sandstrom on June 14, 1968 at Corpus Christi Catholic Church in Galesburg. Despite her health issues with her kidneys she was a mother of three children. Pastor Jen was a religious education teacher, pastoral assistant and director of religious Education at St. Leonard Catholic Church. She also worked as a Hospice volunteer and worked with Alzheimer support. She was a Certified Nurse Assistant for 10 years at Good Samaritan Center and Pelican Valley Nursing Home. In 2002 Pastor Jen was licensed in ministry and was called to pastor at the First Congregational United Church of Christ in Pelican Rapids where she was presently serving with her husband, Rob.Pastor Jen enjoyed her weekly women's fellowship and her bible studies. Her greatest love was going to the North Shore. She loved all of her pets and enjoyed going to dog shows. Pastor Jen will be remembered for her deep understanding and her compassion for others. Jennifer is survived by her husband Rob, Pelican Rapids; three children: Doug (Shelly) Sandstrom, Fargo, ND, Melissa (Ron) Smith, Pelican Rapids, MN, Joe (Emily) Sandstrom, Fargo, ND; mother, Audrey Sandall, Galesburg, IL; grandchildren: Viola, Madelyn, Noah, and Emma Sandstrom, Karlie Cox, Kyle Cox, and Kaleb Smith; brother, Layton (Nancy) Sandall, Galesburg, IL, and wonderful nieces and nephews.She is preceded in death by her father and an infant sister.Memorials preferred to National Kidney Foundation.Visitation: Monday, November 23, 2015, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with a Prayer Service at 7:00 p.m.at First Congregational United Church of Christ, Pelican Rapids, MN.
