Louise Meta Babb, age 99, a resident of Pelican Rapids, Minnesota, died Friday, November 20, 2015 at Lake Region Healthcare in Fergus Falls, MN.Louise Meta (Frohling) Babb was born on October 25, 1916, the daughter of Jacob D and Gesine (Stolle) Frohling in Hecla, SD. She was baptized and confirmed at Peace Lutheran Church in Hecla, graduated from Hecla High School and the Minette School of Hair Dressing in Fargo, ND. She worked at that trade in Big Stone, SD, Aberdeen, SD and Wilmot, SD, where she met her future husband, Gerald Babb. They were married in Wilmot on Nov. 28, 1940. The couple lived in Loyal and Ripon, WI and Hopkins, MN until when they purchased the Bristol New Era newspaper in Bristol, SD. In 1957, they moved to Rapid City, SD and later that same year, they purchased the Hancock Record in Hancock, MN. Louise assisted her husband in the newspaper business as type setter and book keeper. They lived there until retirement in 1978 when they moved to Benson, MN. In 1984, they moved to Pelican Rapids, MN. She was active in Circle and quilting at Trinity Lutheran Church. She enjoyed golf, playing bridge, knitting and reading. She is survived by her son Steve (Mary Kay) Babb of Pelican Rapids, MN; four grandchildren: Brian Janssen, Marshall, MN, Eric Janssen, Jordan, MN, Peter (Melissa) Babb, Battle Lake, MN, Anna (Joel) Sellin, Pelican Rapids, MN; three great-grandchildren: Paige, Ellie and Maisie Babb, Fergus Falls, MN; three step great-grandchildren; sister, Valera Dusel, Casper, WY; and many nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her husband Gerald, in 1994, daughter, Cynthia Janssen, five sisters, Tena Widstom, Frances West, Angela Frohling, Anna Frohling who died as a toddler, and Anna Frohling who died as an infant, four brothers, John Frohling, Everett Frohling, Walter Frohling and Ernest Frohling.
