Norma Christine Rust

Norma Christine (Hanson) Rust, age 90, of Moorhead, formerly Pelican Rapids, MN, died Friday, January 8, 2016 at Golden Living Center, Moorhead, MN.Norma Christine Hanson was born January 25, 1925 in Tansem Township, to Helmer and Oline (Wibe) Hanson. She attended country school in Tansem Township, and after her mother's death she helped raise her siblings.On October 11, 1947 Norma was united in marriage to Elmer Rust in Pelican Rapids. They moved to Tansem Township in Clay County where they lived and farmed to 1971. She also cleaned homes in the Fargo- Moorhead area. Elmer and Norma then moved into Pelican Rapids. Norma then worked for West Central Turkey plant until 1990. Elmer died on August 18, 1996. In 1998 Norma entered the Good Samaritan Center in Pelican Rapids, and in 2012 she moved to the Golden Living Center in Moorhead.Norma enjoyed gardening, embroidering, making donuts, flatbread and many varieties of jams.She was a member of Grove Lake Lutheran Church, ladies aid and church circle.Norma is survived by her two daughters: Mavis Johnson, Maple Grove, MN, Joanne (Leslie) Dunham, Hawley, MN; two sons: Curtis (Elvera) Rust, Parkland, WA, Willis Rust, Golden Valley, AZ; 4 grandchildren: Brian (Becky) Dunham, Julie (Craig) Nelson, Ben (Rachel) Rust and Kristy Rust; 6 great-grandchildren: Abigail, Brayden, Camden Dunham, Taylor Nelson, Mathew and Katherine Rust; brother, Orville (Gail) Hanson, Moorhead, MN, sister-in-law, Dora Mostue, Pelican Rapids, MN and many nieces and nephews.She is preceded in death by her husband, Elmer, her parents, brother Andrew Hanson and sister Ruth Hanson.Visitation: Monday, January 11, 2016 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with a Prayer Service at 7:00 p.m.at Larson Funeral Home, Pelican Rapids, MN.
