Gladys Bouressa of Pelican Rapids, passed away on Monday June 20th, 2016 at the age of 96, at the Broen Home in Fergus Falls where she has resided since July of 2014.Gladys Marie Bouressa was born January 4, 1920 in Brandon MN to Henry and Elsie Schecker. At the age of 2, her family moved to Walker MN where she grew up and graduated from high school. Gladys married Glen Bouressa in 1946 and lived for a time in Clarksville, Tennessee. They had 2 daughters. In 1953 Gladys moved to the Pelican Rapids area and resided in Norwegian Grove Township until 1982 when she moved into the Mill Pond Apartments in Pelican Rapids. Gladys was an active member of St Leonard's Catholic Church in Pelican Rapids and served in several capacities at the Pelican Rapids Senior Center, volunteering many years for the noon meal. Gladys worked in various restaurants over the years including the Pelican Supper Club where she managed the salad bar. She loved cooking and baking and everyone looked forward to her cookies and cakes. Gladys always enjoyed spending time with her daughters, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and her extended family. She also rarely missed a Minnesota Twins game on TV or on the radio. She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister Edith, who died in infancy, her daughter Carol (Gene) Haggberg of Prior Lake, her grandson Lane Haggberg, California, and members of her extended family: Clifford "Skip" Treinen, William "Bill" Treinen, Wayne (Joanne) Erickson, and John "Jack" Treinen She is survived by her daughter Sandra (Dean) Mohs of Melrose, son-in-law Gene Haggberg of Prior Lake, grandchildren Erica Prigge of Minneapolis; Scott (Jolayne) Mohs of Owatonna, Amy Mohs of St Cloud, Michael Mohs of Melrose, and many great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. Gladys is also survived by extended family members Rosie Dupree, Idaho, Joanne Erickson, North Dakota, Phyllis Treinen, Montana, Lorraine Treinen, Wisconsin, Don (Denise) Treinen, North Carolina, Nick (Joanne) Treinen, Idaho, Mary Bongers, Pelican Rapids, Lynda (Barry) Stewart, Ottertail, and Len (Carol)Treinen, Pelican Rapids, and many nieces and nephews.Visitation: one hour prior to the service at the churchFuneral: 11:00 a.m., July 5, 2016 at St. Leonard Catholic Church, Pelican Rapids, MNBurial: following service at St Leonard's Catholic Cemetery, Pelican Rapids MN Memorials: In lieu of flowers memorials to the American Cancer Society are preferred.
