Marjorie Christine Erickson

Marjorie Erickson, 83, a resident of Pelican Rapids, died on Saturday, October 29, 2016 at Essentia Health in Fargo, ND with her family by her side.Marjorie Christine Erickson was born September 11, 1933 in Sabin, MN the daughter of Walter and Viola (McCrady) Motschenbacher. Marjorie was baptized and confirmed at the Church of St. Cecilia in Sabin, Minnesota. She attended the Motschenbacher country school near Sabin and finished the 9th grade in Comstock, Minnesota. After her schooling, Marjorie continued to help raise her brothers because her mom had died at an early age. On October 4, 1952 she was united in marriage with Lloyd A. Erickson in Pelican Rapids. Marjorie and Lloyd lived in Barnesville, Jamestown, Ada and Pelican Rapids. Marjorie worked at West Central Turkey Plant for more than 35 years, during those years she worked on the pack line, the scales and in the kitchen.Marjorie enjoyed fishing, watching the Minnesota Twins, quilting, gardening, flower gardening, reading books and collecting chicken figurines. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Marjorie is survived by her sons: Bill (Bonnie) Erickson of Fargo, ND, Bob (Adela) Erickson of Pelican Rapids, Richard (Missy) Erickson of Vergas, Greg (Debbie) Erickson of Rothsay, and Brad (Sage) Becklund Erickson of Pelican Rapids; daughters: Carol (Lenny) Treinen of Pelican Rapids, Sherry (Scott) Teberg of Pelican Rapids and Lori (Jeff) Booth of Dent; sister Maxine Schmidt; 40 grandchildren; 48 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; sister-in-law Vivian Motschenbacher; brother-in-law Ardean (Debbie) Erickson, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.She is preceded in death by her parents; husband Lloyd; son Eddie; grandson Steve Baker; brothers: Lawrence, LeRoy, James and Duane; and sister Dorothy Soland.Visitation: Tuesday, November 1, 2016 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, Pelican Rapids, MN and resumes one hour prior to the service at the church.Service: 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 2, 2016 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Pelican Rapids, MNClergy: Pastor Scott BlockBurial: Northwest Cemetery, Pelican RapidsPlease keep Marjorie's family in your thoughts and prayers at this time.Funeral Home: Larson Funeral Home 304 3rd Street S.E.
