Anne Schroeder

Anne Margaret Schroeder, age 66, of Pelican Rapids, MN, died Tuesday, February 14, 2017 at Sanford Hospital in Fargo, ND.Anne was born February 16, 1950 in Pelican Rapids, MN, to Arnold and Jane (Waller) Johnson. She was baptized and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church, Pelican Rapids. She attended school in Pelican Rapids, graduating from Pelican Rapids High School in 1968. She attended Fergus Falls Junior College graduating in 1970. In 1973 she graduated from Lutheran Deaconess School of Nursing in Minneapolis, MN. Following her graduation Anne worked as a registered nurse for The American Red Cross in Minneapolis and the Fargo Veterans Hospital. She was the Director of Nursing at The Good Samaritan Center in Pelican Rapids as well as a nurse for Otter Tail County Public Health. Her final employment was at the Pelican Valley Nursing Home. On December 28, 1974, Anne married Don Schroeder at Trinity Lutheran Church in Pelican Rapids. Anne gave birth to two sons: Andrew in 1976 and Martin in 1979. Anne enjoyed cooking and looking up recipes on the computer. She also enjoyed gardening and canning produce from the garden. She was an avid reader. Anne was an organist at Trinity Lutheran Church for over 35 years. She was an accompanist for community events, dinner theaters, weddings, and funerals for the area. She enjoyed doing duets with her son Andrew when he played the trumpet. Anne was a lifelong member of Trinity Lutheran Church. She was also known for her starring role as Lena at the Sky Blue Theater in Frazee. Anne is survived by her husband Don, Pelican Rapids; sons: Andrew (Becca), St. Paul and Martin, Pelican Rapids; sister: Sue (Butch) Nyhus, Dent; and nieces, nephews and many cousins.She is preceded in death by her parents.Memorials are preferred to Trinity Lutheran Church Choir and Pelican Rapids Library.Visitation: One hour prior to the service at the church.Memorial Service: 2:00 p.m., Saturday, February 18, 2017, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Pelican Rapids, Minnesota.Clergy: Pastor Scott BlockInterment: Ringsaker Cemetery in the springFuneral Home: Larson Funeral Home, Pelican Rapids, MinnesotaPlease keep the Schroeder family in your thoughts and prayers.
