Herbert Wischnack

Herbert Wischnack, age 80, a resident of Pelican Rapids, Minnesota, died on June 4, 2017, at his residence. Herbert was born March 25, 1937 in Dent, MN, to Albert and Rosetta (Chapman) Wischnack. He attended school in Pelican Rapids, MN. Then Herb was drafted into the US Army and served from 1960 through 1962, where he was stationed in Germany. After his military duty, he drove milk truck for Duane Farnam. On June 20, 1964, he married Kathleen Ann Van Cleef and they had 5 children. On February 13, 1976 Kathleen died.On October 2, 1976, Herb was united in marriage with Marla Ott. He graduated from DL Tech in Detroit Lakes with an education in small engine mechanics. They resided in Pelican Rapids. Marla passed away on June 30, 2011. Herb presently was living at the Mill Pond View Apartments.Herbert is survived by his sons: Greg Wischnack, Moorhead, MN; Mike (Cindy) Wischnack, New York Mills, MN; Herb (Kristi) Wischnack Jr., Olathe, KS; Daniel Wischnack, Fergus Falls, MN; and daughter; Michele (Willie) Hegna, Madrid, IA; 9 grandchildren: Joshua, Jessica, Justin, Brighton, Brenndon, Reanna, Teagan, Jacob, and Zack; 4 great-grandchildren: Aiden, Carter, Rayna, and Noah; brother; Elmer Wischnack, Dent, MN; numerous nieces, nephews and friends.Herbert is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Kathleen; wife, Marla; brother, Donald. Visitation: Friday, June 9, 2017, from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. at Larson Funeral Home, Pelican Rapids, MN.
