Catherine Lucille Scott

Catherine Scott, 104, a resident of Erhard, MN passed away on July 13, 2017 at the Broen Home in Fergus Falls, Minnesota.Catherine Lucille Scott was born February 20, 1913 to Paul and Ida (Hawley) Schmidt near Dead Lake, Dent, Minnesota. Catherine worked for her room and board while attending and later graduating from Perham High School in 1932. On December 12, 1934 Catherine was united in marriage with Joseph F. Scott in Detroit Lakes, Minnesota. They milked cows, raised chickens and farmed near Erhard. Joseph died on January 6, 1981.Catherine will be remembered for her love of vegetable and flower gardening. She enjoyed going to the Senior Citizens and playing cards. Catherine always treasured the time she spent with children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She was a member of Tonseth Lutheran Church teaching Sunday School for 38 years.Catherine is survived by her daughter, Carol Drechsel, Erhard; son Paul (Muretta) Scott, Erhard; 5 grandchildren: Barb (Donald) Cluever, Kevin (Louise) Drechsel, Dion (Marlies) Drechsel, Paula Buchholz, Denise (Rick) Wandersee; 10 great-grandchildren; 7 great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her husband Joseph; parents; infant grandson Donald Drechsel; brothers: V.C. and Kenneth; 3 sisters: Pauline, Irene and Evelyn; and son-in-law Donald Drechsel.Visitation: Wednesday, July 26, 2017 from 5 to 7 p.m. with a prayer service at 7 p.m. at Larson Funeral Home Chapel.
